Portable & Static Drum MG-42
============================

Name: Portable & Static Drum MG-42
Version: 3.0 (MCh2207Cz)

Game: Call Of Duty 2
Type: Unofficial SP and MP Modification

Modification:
-------------
Hi, this is an update to my "Portable MG-42".

DESCRIPTION:
This little modification brings you the German universal machine gun MG-42 in a new, more detailed and historically correct look. The whole model has been changed according to the reference photo and maximal historical accuracy (see screens). It goes with new skin (DX9 compatible), new sounds (fire, foley, reload, shelleject), new icons (HUD pickup icons, MP menu icons, fire mode icons).

The mod is separated into 2 parts:
  1) Static turret MG-42 which replaces all the static MG-42s... zzzz_mg42static.iwd
  2) Portable MG-42 which replaces the stock cod2 MP-44s ... zzzz_mg42portable.iwd
Both parts are SP and MP friendly.
Both parts CAN BE FREELY APPLYED SEPARATELY OR TOGATHER.

P.S. This is THE WEAPON that GUZZLES AMMO!

HISTORY:
The MG-42 is a universal machine gun. It was developed as a cheaper and more reliable alternative to the universal machine gun's founder - the MG-34. In the MG-42 the mechanism was simplified to give reliability and lower price. It used a new bolt mechanism that allowed astonishingly high rate of fire 1200-1500 rpm giving the weapon the typical sound of tearing canvas. Same as its predecessor the MG-42 was very versatile as it had a large variety of additional equipment (universal tripod with various positions and sights - periscopes/scopes/indirect+direct sights; double mounts; drum magazines; ammo boxes; AA sights; flash hiders; ammo belts freely connected togather; entrenchment mounts; ...). The gun's construction was made light enough (11.5 kgs for the gun) to give the option to be held by single machinegunner if needed although it was ussually used in machine gun squads. The German MG-42 and MG-34 supported the majority of the infantry's firepower - when the machine gun was manned the infantry could manoeuvre and operate. The MG-42 first saw service in late 1942 on the Easten and North-African front where it immediatelly met with enourmous success. The weapon was feared by the enemy because of its enourmous firepower. It soon gained the nickname "Hitler's saw" from the allied soldiers. The MG-42 will be probably the most celebrated machine gun ever...
Enjoy!

NOTES for zzzz_mg42portable.iwd:

If applying for MP use I RECOMMEND UNPURE SERVER.

1) The script compatibility maximized. Almost all stuff uses its uniques files to reduce error probability (the only exceptions to the rule are necessary weaponfiles and mp menu icon).
2) Note that this modification is COMPATIBLE WITH my "Modified P-38" (all versions),"Scoped SVT-40" (all versions), "New BARs" (all versions), "MP-41 SMG" (all versions), "Carbine M2" (all versions), "HDM Silenced" (all versions), "FG42 Scoped & Unscoped" (all versions), "PanzerFaust 60" (all versions), "German MP-38,40,41" (all versions).
Note that this modification is NOT COMPATIBLE WITH my "Scoped MP44" and/or "StG-44 Vampyr, Scoped & Unscoped". Do not apply them at the same time - it can cause errors - they replace the same weapon.
Other modifications have not been tested.
